A simple, but majestic tree, the Ironbark ranks among the densest Australian Eucalyptus trees, made tough by weather and beautiful by eons of struggle. It stands strong against the extremes, giving home to birds, lizards and a multitude of marsupial life. Likewise, this simple, beautiful knit with a bark-like texture is a home you’ll come back to. It’s constructed bottom-up in the round and  worked flat for front and back shoulder shaping. The sleeves are also worked in the round. A very approachable pattern for all knitters, there’s just enough texture for a very engaging knit which will stay sturdy, reliable and beautiful for years to come.

Recommended 0-1" / 0-2.5cm of positive ease for a more fitted garment.

C) Sleeve length from underarm: 24.5" / 62cm.

D) Upper arm circumference: 15.75 (15.75, 17.5, 17.5) [19.5, 19.5, 19.5] (21.5, 21.5, 23.5)” / 40 (40, 44.5, 44.5) [50, 50, 50] (55, 55, 60)cm. 

Suggested Yarn: Les Garcons, British DK, 2ply. 70% Bluefaced Leicester Wool , 30% Masham Wool. Non-superwash 263 yd / 240 m per 100 g skein. Approx: 1097 (1227, 1385, 1454) [1574, 1698, 1744] (2029, 2190, 2414) meters / 1200 (1342, 1515, 1591) [1722, 1858, 1908] (2220, 2396, 2641) yards.

Suggested Needles: Circular needles, 3mm / US 2.5 for collar, cuffs, and hem. 4mm / US 6 for body and sleeves.  Length of circular needle, 80 cm / 32” for body and hem. 40 cm / 16 “ for sleeves and collar. 23 cm / 9” for cuffs.  Optionally Dpns or Magicloop can be used.

Gauge: 20.5 Sts x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4” x 4” in stockinette using needle size 4mm / US 6.
